About Me

I’m a Portland-based photographer who loves working with people and creating portraits where unique personality shines through!

For much of my photography journey I’ve chased megapixels, detail, sharpness, clinical perfection. Then one day I took a vintage film camera to visit family and my whole perspective changed. With “better” equipment I could have had more detail, higher resolution, vivid colors, even more accurate focus. But the photos of my sister with her kids made me pause and wonder why I liked them so much. Instead of noticing clarity and detail I was noticing feelings of warmth and love, as if the picture had captured the way I felt about them. The photo felt like my memory of the moment.

I’ve been told by friends that they usually don’t like the way they look in photos but love how pretty they look in my pictures. So now I chase character, creating beautiful portraits through the perspective of imperfect vintage lenses that were designed for people.
